Kids Hand Print Art

So I am hooked on Pinterest! I love all the cool things I find on that site! One cute thing I found was this frame with the families hand prints init. After looking through my craft room... I found a picture I wasn't using and dug up some card-stock. And started tracing little hands! I was going for the whole family..the two kids, mine and Todd's hand to be in the frame, but Todd's hand didn't really fit. So I went with just the kids hand prints. It turned out really cute. And someday I will get around to getting a frame that will fit Todd's hand. LOL

T-Shirt Scarf

So I recently joined Pinterest..... and LOVE it! I have so many cool DIY projects and craft ideas that I want to make. I figured I would start sharing what I make on here.

The first project is a t-shirt scarf. I was super duper easy! I saw the project on Pinterest and followed it to a site call Mr. Kate. Cute name.

First I just looked around my closet for an old t-shirt. Mr. Kate used a solid colored shirt, but I went for one with a design on it. I was hoping that the design would show through. You will see soon that it didn't work as I hoped.

Then I cut the shirt from armpit to armpit, then cut the hem off the bottom. It should look like a big tube Next I cut the stripes. Mr. Kate said to cut the stripes no wider the an inch but not too thin. I used the tip of my finger and the first crease of my finger tip. It doesn't have to be prefect. Leave a little space between the cut and the end of the tube. Once all the stripes were made it was time for the pulling! You take each loop and pull! This stretches out the loop, making the loop longer. You then gather it up, making a long scarf. Mr. Kate used a scrap piece of leather to cover up the bulk section. I just cut a piece of the shirt and tied it on. This is where you can add cute little embellishments. I also took a few stripes and braided it and then tied it to another stripe.
